Kat Marcum Photo and Film is Kat and Ryan Marcum. We’re Texans living in southern Spain and working throughout Europe. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to creating timeless images, we provide couples with a visual narrative that tells their story authentically.
Of our 14 years of marriage, we’ve been shooting weddings together for ten. Because we know each other so well, we work together seamlessly, building on one another’s strengths as we capture candid moments that unfold organically throughout the day. I’m Ryan, Kat’s husband and her film counterpart. My background is in the non-profit sector and education, but I’ve always made time to help Kat with her photography business. I started learning about videography in high school media classes and making videos for fun with my friends. Later I realized how meaningful and rewarding it is to capture people’s stories on film while working with Kat at weddings through the years. Plus, who wouldn’t want to play with a drone?
On top of spending time with my family and friends, I’m a fan of sports, a good board game, and traveling. I’ll never say no to a day spent with friends outside or a trip to the beach.
About Ryan
I’ve always loved art and photography, and I’m so lucky to turn my passion into a career of documenting the unique moments that make each wedding day so extraordinary.
When I’m not working, I’m probably hanging out with our kids (and our cat, Luna), enjoying coffee or a meal al fresco with friends, and exploring our picturesque town. I also love to paint, and I’ve been known to start a DIY project or two around the house.
I draw a lot of inspiration from films, art, fashion, and nature. I believe you can find beauty and connection anywhere, and I am forever searching for more.
